12.09.02 Snow One of the things I really like about Tokyo is the weather, especially in Fall. Just a few days ago it was 60 degree, but today we had our first snow of the season. Positively the most risk adverse people, the Japanese constant announce warnings to ‘be careful,’ watch your steps,’ and ‘don’t forget your belongings.’ Due to the snow, this warning was emailed to a friend of mine at work: To all, 12.03.02 Getting ready for x-mas This Saturday I cooked Thanksgiving dinner for 50 people, not that 50 people were to attend, only a mere 20, but Tim made me cook that much food. I have eaten Thanksgiving for lunch and dinner for the last 3 days. And now the full on Christmas season begins. The Japanese do not celebrate Thanksgiving, but they do make the most out of Christmas despite less than 1% of the population being Christian. I can only explain it as such: The photo of the day was taken in Tokyu Hands, a large home goods/craft store. There’s Santa (not fat) and Mrs. Claus (also not fat). Mrs. Claus wears a midriff bearing micro mini skirt. Also for purchase are x-mas themed French maid costumes and x-mas themed playboy bunny outfits. |
