You help me to remember - and to colour in my understanding with these glimpses of the Tokyo experiences I never got around to.

Seeing a street like this that promises about 100! experiences per metre is thrilling yet frustrating - I know that I will never be able to decode it all. Can one/does one ever make sense of it? Can one even start to trust the patterns one seems to see? Are the rules-of-thumb one has about one's own culture just as inadequate?

The nostalgia I feel sometimes overwhelms me. I regret so many wasted hours because I did not even start to scratch the surface of the place or the people but I was just so tired at the time ... I thought I had so much time ahead of me and then it all just vaporized.
